Hi. I'm Luke A. Holzmann, author of "Time for Friends" and the Lillypad Land&trade series. Well, it's not a series yet, but I'm writing more stories.
"Time for Friends" came about because I was working on producing a Kindergarten Math DVD and we wanted to teach time and how to read a clock. The Director, Amber, suggested that we have our actor, Justin, read a story with lots of different times in it, and then have the kids follow along on a clock.
Rather than going through the hassle of getting copyright permission to use someone else's book, I decided to write my own.
Dave Lilly did the Illustrations that really gave life to the story. His work is incredible.
I have a draft done for another Lilypad Land&trade story revolving around Rat and his feelings of inadequacy. My goal is to write children's stories that teach basic truths about life that I feel are often overlooked, misunderstood or misrepresented. This story goes beyond the relatively meaningless idea of "you are special/unique" to the far more important point of: You are made a specific way; therefore, you should not be like anyone else.
More than a story of: You're one of a kind, this new work explores the idea of purpose and gives the real reason why you should never feel bad that you are not like your friends.
